Power of the Elements of the Stones
Episode 4
After dinner, everyone sat around Saris fire. Sari was sleeping against Melik, but everyone else was wide-awake and staring at each other.
Pen: So
Melody: You know, we dont know anything about each other beyond our names and our powers.
Tally: Yeah. We should talk about ourselves. You know my name, Im 10, soon to be 11, and I love magical stuff.
Takara: We already know each others names, so saying them would be a bit pointless. Im 12 and I like darkness and shadow
Pen: A little gothic Im 11 and I enjoy being outside and in woodsy areas.
Bek: Im also 11 and I love storms and the wind. I love the feeling of it through my hair
Kanai: Im 14
Tally: Really? I thought you were our age.
Kanai: No. Im 14. I love storms with thunder and lightning and just love the symbol of it. Starts to stare at the symbol on her hand- too bad no one else can see it. It would be like a tattoo
Melik: Umm Im 11 and I like reading and being in the snow
Takara: Really? Thats something new. I thought you were just a bookworm.
Tally: Thats why you dont assume anything, Tacky.
Melody: Sari, you wanna wake up and tell everyone your age and what you like?
Sari: -mumbles in her sleep and rolls over-
Pen: Take that as a no
Melody: Ok. Sari is 7 and likes to run around in the sun and draw by candle light. Im
Everyone: 11
Melody: -smiles- That would be pointless to say after Melik, wouldnt it. I love to swim.
Bek: She practically lives in the water in the summer.
Kanai: Then, you must like the heat too.
Melody: No. I like being able to swim, but I dont care for the heat.
Pen: She loves the winter because of the cold temperatures.
Melik: Do you like snow, Melody?
Melody: No, not particularly
Takara: Thats it!
Everyone: Huh?
Takara: Thats why we have the elements we have. I like darkness, Tally ho likes magic, Pen likes earthy stuff, Bek likes wind, Kanai likes lightning, Melik likes ice, Sari likes heat, which could be translated into fire, and Melody likes water.
Melik: Who said I like ice.
Melody: -the only one who heard it, whispers- Umm snow is ice, Melik.
Melik: -whispers back- Oh. Good point. Never mind.
They all stare at each other for a little while. Sari wakes up and looks at everyone.
Melody: Sooo what does everyone like in school? And lunch or recess does not count.
Sari: Thats not fair.
Takara+Kanai: History.
Tally: Art.
Pen+Bek: English.
Melik: Literature. (now, who didnt see that coming)
Melody: Science.
Sari: Math.
Kanai: Really? What math are you at? thinks- 2+2?
Sari: Were at multiplication. I love that.
Melody: Who likes music?
Everyone: I do!
Melody: Ok. Who does something in school or something of that nature.
Takara,Tally,Pen,Kanai,+Melik: I do.
Takara: I play harp.
Tally+Melik: What?! look at each other and start laughing-
Takara: Yeah, yeah, go on. What do you two do?
Tally: I play clarinet.
Melik: I sing.
Takara: Dont you also play flute? smiles evilly-
Melik: -blushes- Maybe
Melody: I sing, play flute, and play violin. Whats wrong with playing the flute?
Takara: Never mind
Pen: I sing and play trumpet.
Kanai: I sing.
Sari: I wanna play oboe.
Kanai: What, you dont want to play flute like your brother and sister?
Sari: Nope.
Bek: Well, now I feel left out.
Tally: Why?
Bek: Im tone deaf and I cant read music.
Kanai: I dont really know how to read music. Usually, my friend gives me the pitches and I repeat them.
Melody: Well, we should start trying to fall asleep.
Kanai+Takara: What? Now?!
Tally: That is a good idea. That way, we can be well rested for tomorrow.
One by one, they each fall asleep.
