How To Join

So, you want to join? It might sound like a daunting process from what you've heard... And I'll be honest with you, that we are picky. But in the end, the added effort and writing is so worth it. And if nothing else, maybe we'll help you progress creatively if not grammatically.

Seriously though... Applying isn't really as tense and horrifying an experience as you might think after reading through this homepage. We carefully consider every application and read through each completely. Usually, if an application is rejected, it's for something small that can easily be fixed - and after it is, most rejected applications are then accepted. And those that continue to be rejected are done so with good reason.

We will never reject a well-done application, providing that you follow all of the rules and the character doesn't clash with the plans we have for the plot (and on that note, the plot is very open so there isn't much chance that you will clash.

Anyways, if you want to join, you must first ask yourself one question: What kind of character do you want to create? In general, not specifically, because the specifics come AFTER you choose which application form to fill in. And, although there are only a few minor differences in the fields of each form, we ask that you use the correct one. And, if you're copying another profile from a character you play somewhere else, that's fine... Just make sure you change it to suit our application form.

So now you choose which form to use. Click on one of the three links below, and you will be given the CODED form. Note that it's coded for a reason, so don't delete that stuff. (Note: the codes are all of the stuff in the [ ]'s). It just makes the profile easier and more enjoyable to read, as well as more pleasing to the eye.

Application for Professors

Application for Students

Application for Other Characters

*NOTE* If you want to play a canon, see the FAQ!

After you've chosen your application, copy and paste the entire thing into a new document. Now it's time to fill it in! All fields are mandatory unless they say otherwise, or don't apply to your character. In the latter case, don't delete the field, just say N/A. Make sure to spellcheck and proofread - because as nitpicky as it sounds, we are sticklers for spelling and grammar, as they can detract from the quality of your work. A few errors are acceptable of course, not everyone is perfect, after all.

Also, we've abolished all minimum lengths for the fields, but if you stick to minimal contents and leave stuff out about your character, we will ask you to elaborate. It's fine if your content is short-ish, but make sure that you at least put in all that would be expected. Appearance doesn't just consist of height, weight, hair, and eyes, after all. Give us specifics.

Okay, so once everything's done and you're happy with the form, it's time to actually apply for membership! Simply go to the MU RP Board, and click on the Applications forum. There, paste your application contents into a new topic - make the topic title your character's name. If we can't find any problems with it, we'll accept you, add you to the rosters, give you your custom title, and you can start roleplaying!

Good luck, and thanks for choosing Moonshine University for your Roleplaying Needs.
