To calculate hand odds, you first need to know how many outs your hand has. Outs are cards in the deck that help you make your hand. Say you have A2 of hearts and two hearts fall on the flop. There are nine hearts left in the deck to help make your hand so you have nine outs. The table below gives the percentages of getting your outs on the turn and river. However, there is an easier was to calculate hand odds without memorizing the table. A simple way is to find your number of outs and times it by four on the flop and by two on the turn. This will give you a percentage that is almost exact. Say you have five outs on the flop and times it by four to get twenty percent, as you can see on the table that is the exact percentage.
