Bluffing and Semi-Bluffingfi

Bluffing is a key component in the game of Hold'em. Sometimes you need to take those small pots before your opponent has the chance to hit a big card. Not all bluffs need to be half your stack or all in. Sometimes betting fairly small will work if you have good position on your opponent. When you are in last position and everyone has checked to you, it might be wise to stab at the pot. They might either be slow playing a good hand or have a really weak hand. It might be worth risking a small portion of your stack in order to find out if you can pick up the pot. Bluffing can also be used to discover the styles of your opponents. If you find someone is susceptible to a big raise then it can work in your advantage later on with a potential bluff.
Semi-Bluffing is a style of bluffing when you can actually make your hand. Sometimes you might want to get all your chips in on a semi-bluff. Usually the case is that you don't want anyone to call, but if they do you may still win the hand. Say you have A7 suited of spades and two spades fall on the flop. Going all in here would be a semi-bluff. You know you are drawing to the nut flush, but you might not make your hand. You aren’t looking for a caller but if someone does call you then you can still make your winning hand.
