To Tan Or Not To Tan....
Ok, summer is here. We all want to look our best. We want to be fit, and of course, have that beautiful "Healthy Glow" that a tan provides. I have to admit; I feel so much better about myself when I have a tan. I am so confused. I mean, we have all heard of reasons to avoid the sun. Skin cancer, premature aging, did I say skin cancer? But there is also evidence out there that we can gain benifits from the sun. We get natural Vitamin D from the sun, and it's free. I'm all about free. There are many benfits that we get from Vitamin D. I suggest that you just do a search for Vitamin D and see what you come up with. I think that you will be surprised. I found that there are many diseases and illnesses that are said to be caused by a Vitamin D deficiency. Now, I'm not saying go out and bask in the sun till ya look like a lobster. I'm just saying that some sun exposure, in moderation might be a good thing. This is just my personal opinion, and should in no way be taken as advise. I am not a medical professional, I'm just someone who likes to enjoy the advantages of all things nature. To be fair, you can also do a search on skin cancer, and the dangers of the  sun. As for me, I'll be soakin up some rays this summer.
Please, Please , Please see your doctor if you have any signs of something on your body that is a different color or shape than anything else. Or anything that has changed. Many areas offer free skin cancer screenings. It wouldn't hurt to check that out, and perhaps make it a part of your routine, just as any other checkup or screening. Life is too short, and many times things that are found early on can be treated with a positive outcome.

SUMMERTIME
SUMMER TIDBITS...
Keep active this summer, and encourage the kids to do the same. Go for a bike ride or walk, or get the kids to help out in the garden.

With the kids home all summer, it gets hard to have special time with your significant other. If you can, get the grandparents to watch the kids, and have a regular "Date Night".

Cook outs are a fun summer activity. This can be a fun way to get everyone involved with the cooking. Kids and spouses tend to help with cook outs, as it just does't seem like the chore of indoor cooking.

Adventures in your own backyard. Have a treasure hunt or scavenger hunt in the backyard.
