Our first trip to the ER
Here is a story that I think every parent will probably be able to relate to. It was about 2:00 am, and I was wakend by the cry of my then 6 month old son. Nothing would calm him down. He was crying as if he were in pain, and it was even worsre when I touched his belly. Of coarse this scared me to death. I immediately called the doctor. She heard his crying and told me to bring him to the hospital. So off we went. I was in tears. I felt helpless. I just wished that I could make him stop hurting. I was imagining all kinds of terrible things. When \we arrived at the hospital, we didnt have to wait long to see the doctor. My son was still crying, and i was praying. About 45 seconds into the exam, my son let out the loudest sound of gas (a fart), and then filled his diaper. The crying stopped. All that fuss over a little poop. Im not sorry that I took him to the hospital though. We dont always get that lucky.

Tips for moms with babies.
First of all do not hesitate to call the doctor. there is always a doctor on call and they will help you decide what to do. calling doesnt cost anything, and its always best to be safe.
-any major change from your babys normal routine could be a sign of illness
--a tepid sponge bath can help to reduce babys fever and relieve fussiness
--babys do not come with handbooks. you know your baby unlike anyone else. you can never be too careful.
