Brain Injury Support Group Meeting

Eleven people attended the meeting.  After introductions and a brief update we talked about how differently, if at all, we celebrate the holidays since our loved one suffered a brain injury. 

We adjourned at 8:15 PM.

The next meeting will be January 25.  Our guest speaker will be neurologist,
Merle Teetzen, M.D.

The Guest Speaker was Lynnee Schmidt, CMT. Her topic for the meeting was:
 
'Stress, Massage and the Holidays'
Lynnee described how the stress of the holidays can have a negative impact people, especially people with brain injuries. She demonstrated several massage techniques that can be done, with a partner or by yourself, that can help to relieve tension and stress. We all got a chance to practice the techniques and were amazed at the impact they had. It was a very productive and lively session.
These activities lasted long enough that there wasn�t time for breakout sessions.
