Rrain Injury Support Group Meeting

Meeting began at 7:05 PM. 22 people were in attendance. After a brief business meeting we began introductions of survivors and families. We then opened up the discussion to our guest speaker, Julie Feld, who has been a brain injury counselor for seven years. After much dialog and discussion, we ended the meeting at 9 PM concluding that hope is what keeps families of brain injury going.

Meeting started at 7:00 at Feld Farm
What a beautiful way to celebrate the Support Groups first anniversary which began by meeting at the Feld home one year ago. The weather was perfect, cool and clear.
hirty people, one really cute baby and one dog met at the Feld farm for a "Goodbye" bonfire outing. Guitar music was performed by one of the members and provided a peaceful background to the warm fire.
The only formal item on the agenda was the throwing of painful memories in the fire. The fire was so tempting that the Feld's furnished marshmallows and fixings to make the traditional S'Mores before the actual burning of all sorts of things. People brought items that represented a memory and said goodbye to it by tossing it into the fire. The purpose being; letting go and saying goodbye to a painful memory brought on by one of those sudden turns in life. It was a huge fire and everything burned to ashes. Some of the plastic items gave off some interesting aromas.
Thanks to the Felds for providing the setting for a wonderful gathering.
