Forty-five survivors, caregivers, and friends present

Because of the special nature of this meeting, no new business was discuss.
We were fortunate to have Kara Swanson as a guest speaker. She told her story as a brain injuryed survivor and as a caregiver for her father who sustained two strokes. Kara's inspirational experiences produced laughter and tears as she described the ongoing struggles and positive successes. Because Kara has experienced both ends of the spectrum as survivor/caregiver, many attendees could relate to her experiences and asked her many questions.
Ten Support Group members attended the two day BIAW Conference held at the KI Center. Two members were award recipients at the conference. Colleen Busche received the Individual Advocact Award and Megan Feld received the Individual Achievement Award.
