Dawn and Dusk
What have I walked upon?
This violin song trance,
The melody carries one along.
Cello echos fast in time.
Through a glade of fallen wood
Red and yellow leaves whirl;
Bounded by a moat of water lillies
And shaded by a willow's veil,
I spy not treasure nor a thorn
I find what can't be torn
Cymbal's clash and bass drums sound
Piano notes lead on the dance.
A bed of moss upon a rock
sits a star whose ascension
shone bright in mine and all through
The eastern horizon's morning eyes
When her blaze was set
She was tempered by only morning dew.
That star wept,
On her willow dais she slept.
Strummed guitar in chords of E
soft and high upon the bridge
Meet with voice and song.
Nature's dawn choir of the glade
has followed here and stayed,
I take seat beside the risen sun
Her light awakens me and draws life
and last our star's eyes are shaken from dream
The sounding flute of satyr's teem
Drops of water fall from song
The air resounds with soft pitter patter
rainclouds unleash on autumn leaves
A dappled red-gold leaf descends
and lands in hand of beauty foremost
She stirs and smiles at autumn's fruit
Then looks and quite to her surprise
She finds me standing just to her side
Harp strings drizzle over us in sonance
Beautiful dawning star meets Winter night in solace.
