Beautiful Road

I rode today through worlds of light
and driven in the brightest land
The sky took irises and marigolds
then cast their colors onto a pool
that then shone upon the sky
such a violet violence brazing fast
Across the cloud-lit summer's past
The weaving road turned around at end
To return again the other way
Where mountain peaks tore up the ground
So close were they, the trees stood out
But in a winter's white snowfall
The blues turned green and browns turned gold
So that the mountains gleamed and shone
They ripped across the sky with pride
Indigo peaks under rose hinted pony tails
Those whisps of vanilla cream curled high
The road bordered by meadow, fence and snow
A show for eyes of kings of old
For carriage rides with lovers best
Lasting until the eve sun set
when the ball of flame fell to doze
Under the tree of the midnight glow.
