Chocobo Hot & Cold Game

They might not be the same exact ones on the game, but they must be pretty close to the game's chocographs. Just try to collect as many as you can in one place. Then just look around. I'm sure you'll find your chocograph. The map is below. Click it to enlarge it.

In some cases, when you are looking for treasures, you will find a treasure chest with smoke in it. That is when Choco goes to the Chocobo Dream World, and Fat Chocobo (the god of all the chocobos) will bestowe upon Choco a new ability. The abilities are Land, Reef, Mountain, Sea, and Fly. They're not called that exactly though. Land is what you start with, you should know that one. Reef is the shallow water. Next is Mountain, where you can travel on mountains. Sea is where you can travel in the deeper, bluer water. Fly is a little hard to figure out at first. You must go into a forest and press X. Then you will start flying.

The three places that Choco can travel to dig up Chocographs and Chocograph Pieces are Chocobo's Forest, Chocobo's Lagoon, and Chocobo's Air Garden (which is also Ozma's burial ground). To find out more about Ozma then go to the Secret Bosses section. You can only access the Chocobo's Lagoon with Choco at his reef stage or higher. You can only access the Air Garden with Dead Pepper and Choco at his sky stage. When you find a shadow, then make sure that Choco is flying over it. Then use a Dead Pepper over it, and you will fly up and if you did it right, then your screen will turn white.

Signals

"Kweh." - No treasure around (cold)
"Kweh!?" - getting closer to treasure (warm)
"Kwehhh!?" - getting very close to treasure (hot)
"K-KWEHHH!!!" - you've found the treasure

After seeing that last signal, then you should push square or whatever you push to dig up the treasure as fast as possible. The faster you go, the more time you have. The deeper the treasure, the more points it's worth. You can exchange points in for items like the Robe of Lords, ethers, and the rare Viltgance Card.

This game is vital to your success in Final Fantasy IX. You can play as soon as you exit Lindblum's Dragon Gate. Many sidequests depend entirely on your progress in this game. For example, some islands you can only get to using Choco, for example, Chocobo's Paradise.
