According Siva, It is surprising that there is not a website that talks about Strategic Planning for ICT in School in South Austral while other states have their own.
The process of preparing for strategic planing is another intersting one that we have learnt. This prcess includes in the ascending order:
mission and objective (vision): What is the result by the end?
enviromental sensing: Needs Analysis
strategy formulation: Operational Plan
strategy implementation: How do we implement?
evaluation and control
Interms of needs analysis, Siva prents us with two types of analysis: SWOT Analysis an PEST analysis.
"SWOT" stands for "Strengthm, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat". This environmental sensing can be done with internal and external anlysis, so that data we get will help us clearer to prepare the strategic plan.
"PEST" stands for "Political, Economics, Social, and Technological" analysis. This types of analysis should also be conducted with SWOT analysis.
And finally, Siva tells us to discuss in group in order to find strength and weakness of the computer lab we are usining. After discussion, each groups come up with ideas of stengths and weakness. These ideas can be applied as into the prcess of stategic planing to improve our computer lab.
