| 1. Instruction Design 2. Modelling your websites-evaluation 3. Dreamweaver Teaching VS Instruction is the first topic that Siva pointed out in the class today. In general, these two words are in the same activities that means to give people knowledge. According to Gragene et al. (1992), instruction is defined as a human taking whose purpose is to help people learn.... is a set of events that afffect in such way that the learning is facilitated. We rather speak about instruction rather than teaching because we wish to describe all the events that may have a direct effect on the learning of a human being, not just those set in motion by individual who is a teacher. In terms of instructional design, this term is defined as process, discipline, science, reality. Here are use ful websites about instructyional design: http://www.nwlink.com/~donclark/hrd/sat.html http://www.indiana.edu/~idtheory/gree1.html http://carbon.cudenver.edu/~bwilson/training.html http://www.keele.ac.uk/depts/cs/Stephen_Bostock/docs/atid.htm Web-based education by Aggarwal (2000) is another issue that we got today. Web-based education increaes its popularity because a high demand for a twenty-first century education this includes: - independent of time and space; - oriented toward goals and outcomes; - cetred in the student/learner - geared to active, hands-on learning; and - able to accomodate differences in skills and language. Siva also told us to discuss who should involve in education web design within our groups. Here are what we have discussed about the people who should get involved in web design: - Teachers - Students (former, present and former) - Administrators - Stakeholders (parents, financial support) Siva further introduced some sample of education websites to the class. http://web-ucate.com/ http://www.artsconnected.org http://www.artsconnected.org/toolkit http://pages.infinit.net/seguind/evaluation.htm http://www.curtin.edu.au/home/allen/we3/igm/110205.html http://www.ocean.us/documents/docs/Final%20Bridge%20Paper%20for%20ORIO.pdf http://circle.adventist.org/browse/resource.phtml?leaf=3834 http://www.geocities.com/w9227/Edweb/index.htm http://www.dmc.dit.ie/maim2002/jenny/1 Reading Gagne et al In Simons session, I found out that dreamweaver is quite the same as Microsoft front page, because the most important thing is that after we have created the model we have to save all the document and images in the same folder, so that we can have all the thing we have put on the web page.
