1. Why ICT and online learning
2. Terms and references
3. HTML and website design

The sample of online line learning introduced to the class today is bulletin board  designed by Simon. This bulletin board is useful because we can post our thought, questions to each other and save things. The web address of the bulletin is http://simon.skrodahl.net/forum/ and his email address is [email protected]. This website or bulletin board is for knowledge sharing. This bulletin board will be in use form this week onwards. Siva said that at the end of the year the information on the bulletin board will be changed into the knowledge base for the students.

Reading 1 (The Knowledge Economy)
The Argentine disease is an interesting example for the developed country in terms of prosperity of the country. According to the article, Agentina has been left behind many other European countries, particularly New Zealand. However the trend of Agentine disease could possibly happen to New Zealand when the country has not been introduced to the education of the country while other countries are doing the trade the technology. As McGovern stated in this handout that the nations will be successful in the information revolution, when technology is used in the system.

Reading 2:
According to Morrison (2003), online learning and e-learning are the same meaning. E-learning is the continuous assimilation of knowledge and skills by adults stimulated by synchronous and asynchronous learning events and sometimes Knowledge Management outputs which are authored, delivered, engaged with, supported, and administered using Internet techniques. In terms of skills, e-learning is no different from any other area where expertise is required the best people are in great demand. However, It is different from some other areas because it is still a relatively new discipline and there are only limited number of people with skills and experience.

Discussion:

Siva told us to reflect on the organization we come from and find out things that we put on our websites to create a learning organization. Here are the thing things that we want to put in our websites.
1.  related to experience/people
2. Vision/mission/context
3. response/feedback
4. resources
5. target audiences
6. sharing/interactive
7. updated-dynamic websites

Siva further introduced us to the website of University of Tasmania (www.utas.edu.au), another interesting web,  that interest the audience because it looks more colourful and more convincing. Especially the photos of the pages changes each time when we press F5.

In Simon's session, HTML was introcuded to the class. At first it seemed  that HTML is quite complicated. After Simon recommended some its basics and some websites of how to write it I found that it is interesting to learn to know. Here are useful websites for basic HTML.
