The Boston Red Sox are one of the most historic teams in all of professional sports. They were a dominating team in the early 1900s until 1918, when they won their last World Series title with Babe Ruth. He was traded to the New York Yankees, and said that the Red Sox would never win another World Series without him. Although it took 86 years to prove him wrong, the Sox went on to win the World Series in 2004. That gives the Red Sox a total of 6 World Series titles. Other accomplishments include 11 American League Pennants, 3 Division Series wins, 4 Wild Card titles, and 5 Division Championships. Nine members of the Baseball Hall of Fame have been inducted as members of the Red Sox, most recently Wade Boggs. The Red Sox have played at historic Fenway Park on Yawkey way since 1912. It currently seats about 34,000 fans, and has a long sell out streak. It has the shortest left field in the Major Leagues at 310 feet. The Red Sox are team steeped in tradition, and have gained thousands of fans over more than a century of playing.
