Boston sports teams are legendary. The Red Sox date back to the early 1900s, and were one of the first professional baseball teams in America. The Bruins date back to the 1920s when professional hockey had less than 10 teams. The Celtics were involved in the development of professional basketball, and consequently were one of the first teams to compete. The Patriots date back to the late 50s when professional football started to gain the attention of the public. All of these teams have had winning and losing seasons. Boston has been called home by such legends as Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Bobby Orr, Bob Cousy, and recent superstar Tom Brady. There is no doubt that Boston can be called on of the greatest sports cities in the nation.
