Afghan is worked across long edge. With first color, chain 158.
Foundation Row: Single crochet (sc) in 2nd chain (ch) from hook and in each ch across -- 157 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 1-3: Sc in first sc and in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. At end of Row 3, work color change in last sc as follows: insert hook in last stitch and draw up a loop, drop color in use and cut yarn leaving 6" tail, with next color, yarn over and draw through loops on hook. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: Sc in first sc,* sc in next sc one row below, sc in next sc 2 rows below, sc in next sc 3 rows below, sc in next sc 2 rows below, sc in next sc one row below, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat Rows 1-4 in each color listed, then repeat total color sequence 3 more times, end with changing color to first color and working Rows 4, 1 and 2.
Fringe:
Cut 9 strands of first color each 17" long. Insert hook from back to front in end of first stripe. Double strands over hook and draw loop through, then draw ends through loop. Pull to form a knot. Work a knot in both ends of each stripe matching colors. Trim evenly.
