The Story of a Binky

Usually when binky deliveries are made we don't get the chance to meet the children they are given to. We know in our hearts that what we are doing is making a difference in children's lives, but it is rare to actually see how much those binkies really mean to the children who recieve them.

Recently I had the opportunity to personally deliver binkies to two foster care chlidren, ages 2 and nearly 1. It was special just to see such beautiful children, but what really touched my heart was the reaction the two year old little boy had when he saw the adorable cowboy binky I had for him.

His face lit up like the sun and he grabbed the binky from my hands and hugged it so tight. He wrapped it tightly around him and immediately layed on the floor, cuddling up in the binky. I recieved countless hugs and a few kisses. He never put the binky down. He acted as if I had just given him the world... Maybe just at that time, I actually did.

After I left I cried. Not in sadness, but in joy. It was wonderful to see with my own eyes how deeply your love and comfort touches the children. To know that what you have done makes such a difference in those children's lives, even if only for a few moments only revitalizes the desire to reach out and comfort them.

I wanted to share this with you and say thank you to all of you for giving me the opportunity to experience that afternoon. It is a day that I will always remember and cherish.

If you know of a child who could use our extra prayers and support, please contact Brandy about getting them a binky and adding them to our prayer page.
