Oh my. More than a year without a single update! This one's not much of an improvement, either. I just edited this page to reflect the files I added some time ago: the Gaiman files I mentioned in my last update, plus the nth incarnation of Scar, now in PDF form after it was published in the Nov. 1, 2006, issue of the Inquirer. I've also decided to upload my resumé, which can also be accessed through the About page. Here's to a small step for Mimai, and an even tinier one for mankind.

Geekgasm!

I'm about a year or so overdue for a site overhaul/a brand new site somewhere else and wasn't really planning to update again, ever. However, the papers weren't able to accommodate this, so I had nowhere else to put it up in except this site. (Side story: I wrote it almost immediately after interviewing The Man, but my producer told me not to submit it for publishing until the week of the broadcast date. The interview was in July; the feature aired in August. And I was given such short notice that none of the sections could squeeze my story in in time for the episode. I sent it to Entertainment first, which forwarded it to Lifestyle and... you get the idea.)

Hope you enjoy reading it even half as much as I enjoyed working on it. I know I speak for so many other people out there, across generations, when I say that Neil Gaiman's writing has made life so much more vivid and meaningful to me.

Okay, enough cheese! Click that link (now na). And if that's not enough, the complete, warts-and-all transcript is found here. I'm thinking of getting the TV script and a video file up, too, but I'll have to see how feasible/legal that idea is.

Francine and I have finished the Cutest, not to mention the Fastest (as far as I know), Thesis. This at the expense of missing the Incubus concert, but then again I didn't really feel like going ever since Miguel died.

It's Chris's graduation tomorrow morning; he placed third overall, I think. Congrats, bro! Then it's lunch at my grandma's (the entire Florida branch of the Perez family tree is in town); after that, I'm bound for the CMC grad assembly.

With all this free time I suddenly have at my disposal, I've gone and updated the usual sections. I think I went overboard with this one. No new pics yet. I really want to overhaul this site, give it a new color scheme and layout and everything. I hereby promise to get it done before June.

While downloading my own stuff (graduation = portfolio-making time), I discovered that one of my essays had TYPOS. Once I'd actually typed "approved" when I really meant "disapproved." That's what happens when your Comm 120 professor demands that you hand in handwritten reaction papers. (Of course, Atty. Raffy Khan never ordered me to upload my essay to any website. ^_^) Anyway, I fixed those typos, but since I'm half-asleep right now I might've missed other ones. People! If you spot a typo, tell me about it so I can fix it! I won't hurt you. As Dang says, I bite but I don't chew.

By the way, a new edition of my variables is already up. Do check it out, especially if the word "Jatits" means something to you. ^_~

16 January 2004
I added a couple of entries here; was too lazy to make a new page. Hehe!

Also uploaded a little animated thingy Job, Jeff and I made (same one that'll appear on the Digital Vox). I didn't link to it, though. If you can guess the file name, you deserve to see it. ^^

30 December 2003
Hi ho. Added TJ's blog to my links page, but not before I updated this section. That's about it.

18 November 2003
That was fast. Added three more links, plus a long-ish and brand-spankin'-new installment of my variables. (Happy happy joy joy!) Then I realized I saved one page as two files, so I deleted one. And then I remembered Julo told me what that forgotten Marilyn Manson song title was, so I fixed this page accordingly.

16 November 2003
Fixed the Links page to include Anton's site and Ian's new one. Juay revamped her site, too, so do check it out!

09 November 2003
It's been awhile. Unfortunately, this isn't much of an update. I only disabled all links leading to Okray # 1 and my blog. I didn't think this many people would be reading my stuff. ^^;

I'm starting what I hope is my very last semester of college tomorrow. Wish me luck, everyone! I'm taking a creative writing class again (kids' lit), so I'll probably be able to write more and upload my work to this site. Also, I got my grad pic contact prints last week and am expecting the actual pictures before December, which can only mean one thing: more piccies on the site! Wee!

Ah, the things you can do with an old friend, his digital camera and a couple of pore strips. Enough said, click the link and see what I mean.

03 August 2003

  • Uploaded the very first wallpaper to the gallery. Look at it (now na). Thanks, insan!
  • Came out with a new installment of my variables
  • Made this page (I figured it'd make things easier for everyone)
  • Updated site map accordingly

Many thanks to everyone who checked the site out for the past few months, although some people came and went without signing the guestbook. (Yes, I do mean YOU if you're Ate Melissa. Or my J 122 and CW 100 classmates. Or Alay. Or Irene. Or Michael.)

Speaking of the guestbook, I suppose most of you know about the stalker issue by now. I honestly do not have the vaguest clue who the person is, nor do I intend to investigate the matter. I won't delete the entry, though, because it does have entertainment value.

Prof. Arao has suggested I take the photos and essays off the site because they're stalker fodder. The only problem with that, of course, is that these things make up the bulk of my site. I wouldn't have much left if I got rid of them!

When I first put the when section up, I thought the only person who'd give it a second look would be my CW 140 teacher. I'm glad (though slightly embarrassed) that my work has reached a wider audience than I expected. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Keep 'em coming. ^_^

That's it for now.
