This is -- I think -- my first camp built specifically for DBA (as opposed to the camp sections, which were built earlier). I gouged out a trench in the bass wood at the base of the toothpick palisade. I used some leftover Celtic figures to defend it, along with some leftover spears propped up on the wall. The barrel is from a bag of resin ones I mix in here and there on various camps. The oversize sling stones in the barrel are little balls of blue tack coated with epoxy. Clever, eh?
This camp holds the distinction of going through the most harrowing experience any of mine have. A player leaned over the table and didn't notice his stomach had been pricked by the palisade. When he leaned back, the camp went with him, then fell unnoticed to the floor. It was subsequently stepped on and most of the soldiers flattened. I discovered it when I drifted over to see how the game was going. It has been brought back to life, as you can see. Oh, and the gamer in question never got any of my nice camps after that!!!
