A population this size will create an overwhelming amount of pollution.
Pollution on such a massive scale will eventually destroy our atmosphere,
meaning that life won't be able to survive outdoors. This includes both plant
and animal life, or in other words, food. The water pollution will also choke
life in the seas and contaminate drinking water.
Secondly, if our technological advancement continues at current paces,
the year 2126 will be witness to man-made marvels. As history shows, some
of these marvels will undoubtedly be used for destructive purposes.
Revelation said the first dictator (whose mark is 666) will have authority
over every tribe, people, language, and nation. The second dictator will cause
fire to come down from the sky. This all sounds like they are in possession of
some kind of satellite laser weapon.
Also, the resurrection of the first dictator could be done through cryonics
or cloning, and the "living" image of this dictator could be a virtual reality
image or hologram.
But the third reason 2126 is such a likely candidate for the end times is
this: The Earth, right this moment, is on a collision course with a giant comet.
Science tells us that in the year 2126 there is a one in 10,000 chance that this
comet will impact the Earth. In astronomical terms, one in 10,000 is a virtual
bull's-eye.

If this comet does hit the Earth, more than likely the Earth will be thrown
off its axis, which would make the stars look as though they are falling from
the sky. The dust kicked up on impact would darken the sky, blocking out the
moon entirely and most of the sunlight. There would be great earthquakes,
volcanic eruptions, and tidal waves such as have never been witnessed by
man.
Revelation states, "... hail and fire ... was hurled down upon earth....
something that looked like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into
the sea... a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky... a star had
fallen from the sky to the earth...Then came flashes of lightning, rumblings,
peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No other earthquake like it has ever
occurred since man has been on earth.... Every island fled away and the
mountains could not be found. Huge hailstones of about one hundred pounds
each fell upon men." (It should be noted that a comet is basically a giant ball
of ice.)
Jesus said in the Gospels, "Immediately after the distress of those days the
sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall
from the sky..."
