Another unmistakable sign of the end times will be the blasphemous dictator. The name of this man, or the number of his name, is 666. He will take over much, if not all, of the world. He will rule for 42 months and then be killed, or at least appear to have been killed. Then another dictator will take his place.

This second dictator will be able to perform miracles. As stated in Revelation, "And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven in full view of men."

But what is even more miraculous, the first dictator (whose number is 666) will be brought back to life. The second dictator will then proclaim the resurrected dictator to be God. He will persuade all the inhabitants of the Earth to worship the resurrected dictator, and force everyone to receive his name or mark (666) on their right hand or forehead. People without the mark will not be allowed to buy or sell.

However, according to Revelation, whoever receives this mark is blaspheming the real God. People who receive the mark will not be allowed to enter Heaven.

The second dictator will have an image made of the resurrected dictator, and then appear to bring this image to life. He will give the image a voice to speak with, and the power to judge all who are brought before it. Those who refuse to worship the resurrected dictator will be condemned to death.

The book of Daniel of the Holy Bible states that the placing of this image in the Holy Temple, or most holy place, is the "abomination that causes desolation." This act will begin a 1,290 day countdown to the end. (The book of Daniel added, "Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.") This prophesy was later reaffirmed by Jesus in the Gospels.

At the end of these days Jesus will return to Earth. All the world will see him in the clouds, arriving with great power and an army of angels. However, many will come before this time claiming to be Jesus or the Messiah. They are all false messengers who must not be followed, no matter how convincing they appear.

But the question remains, "When will these events take place?"

What follows is strictly my opinion and, therefore, could be completely wrong.

The year 2126 seems to be shaping up as a likely candidate for a number of reasons. The first of which is a projected world population of 15 to 25 billion.

A population this size will fall under tremendous strains. Every necessity for daily living will be in short supply. Living space itself will be scarce. Political, not to mention religious, tensions will boil over as national populations outgrow their boundaries.
