World Peace
Someone once said, "Those who do not remember the past are doomed
to repeat it." This is true. However, it can also be said that those who do not
let go of the past cannot move forward.
History tells us that most, if not all, wars are instigated by dictators. Dictatorships are a pox on mankind. Their only consequence is destruction.
In order for our world to move forward we must let go of this barbaric
form of rule. Therefore, the United Nations must outlaw dictatorial governments.
But unfortunately, not even this will be enough. The threat of terrorism
will always be with us. It is a beast that, sadly, can never be killed. It
can, however, be hunted relentlessly and mercilessly. We must give the
United Nations the authority to occupy nations that harbor terrorists, and to
use any and all means necessary to destroy the threat.
The vast majority of terrorist activity in the world today is committed in
response to the Israeli presence in the Middle East and U.S. policies in this
region. To remedy this highly volatile situation, two steps must be taken.
1) the nation of Israel should voluntarily relocate to a more welcoming
area of the world, keeping the name Israel, and all of their cities' names and
layouts the same. The ideal relocation site would be northern Australia,
which possesses a great amount of unpopulated land and no enemies. Such
an undertaking would provide a tremendous boon to the economies of both
nations.
2) after step one has been completed, the U.S. must permanently
withdraw from the Middle East and Middle Eastern affairs. Future conflicts
of global concern that arise in this region should be handled by the United
Nations.
However, true peace can be achieved only when the people of this world
come to the realization that we are all a family. No matter the differences in
our languages, colors, religions, or where we live on the map, we are all
related to one another.
The community of Earth must spend every available cent on the sciences
that help man as a whole and every available moment healing the sick,
feeding the famished, housing the homeless, and protecting the downtrodden.
This can be done so simply by taking the time and money that we currently
waste trying to destroy each other and instead use it to help one another. All
we have to do is redirect our efforts.
Mankind is at the end of our adolescence. We are now in the middle of a
century of decision. Either we as a species are going to blow it all in this
generation, or at last mature and peacefully grasp the grand frontier of consciousness that our universe offers. The responsibility lies with us.
