                                                       How We Got Here

As some of you may already know this page is here to help share our story of pain and joy. Let's set up the story. Terry has for most all of his life been a giver, he always stopped to help when ever he saw the need, so this day was not any different  then any other day 14 Feb. 2007. Terry (aka Dad) went to pick up one of his grandson's and went to make sure that his oldest daughter could get out of her drive as we here in Indiana have had some hard winter storms. After getting her out Terry picked up some food and dropped off his grandson. In the meantime a young mother was in route to the doctors office for her baby, She had slidden off the road. An uncle had been called there and her grandpa was coming. This is when Terry come up on the car in the snow. After Terry parked his truck, Terry and the uncle were trying to see the best way to get her car out of the snow. It was then that the mother saw the on-coming car and jumped into the back to cover her baby. Her uncle jumped to the other side and Terry was left with no place to go. The other car was being driven by a man who was also taking 2 of his kids to the doctor and he slid on the same ice that the young mother hit that started the whole thing. Thanks to the uncle (he had medic training) and his fast work they were able to give first aid to Terry. This all happened around 10:15 am on 14,Feb.2007 and Terry was air lifted to Methodist Hospital. At the scene Terry lost his left leg below the knee. The people packed it in the snow for the doctors to use later if possible. They could tell that his left arm was broken along with most of his body.
