The doctors told us at the hospital that dad had a broken back, his pelvis was broken in at least 4 places and the tail bone had separated, he lost his left leg at the knee and his left arm was broken and needed plates and screws. Terry has been allowed to wake up and was talking however he is still confused from all the meds. He thinks that the crash happened 1 year ago. All in all it has been a long two weeks, the first few days all we could do is to put out the call to pray and the word went out around the world as far as we can tell. I have been told by people from the hospital that he may not make it. One of Terry's nurses had told us that she went home and prayed for him and fearing that he would not be there when she returned to work 3 days later, to her joy she found him there and doing better, be it ever so small he was doing better.
As we look back we can see how God has moved in this. Looking at the fact that Terry should not have made it through the crash, God chose to let us keep him. I look at our time in the ER and all the work that the team did, the massive blood loss from the lost leg, the massive trauma that goes with this type of hit, by the worlds standards he should be gone yet God honored our prayers, the prayers of so many believers to heal this broken body. We are so grateful to all who prayed for Terry and his family THANK YOU and please do not stop as our road is still long and costly. |
