| Terry's progress week of Feb.25 - March 3 | ||||
| Terry has gone through 14to 16 hours in the O.R. He has had his spine fused, has had internal and external fixator in his pelvis and plates & screws in his left arm. He is talking but is still unable to remember all that has gone on or how long it has been since he was hit. Feb. 26, 2007 The doctors have gone in to clean his lungs using a small camara and vac tube. they had to remove his vent tube, they decided to a tracheotomy so that they could put in a vent if needed and it will let his tounge and throat heal. Monday February 26,2007 Terrys pastor told us that the hospital had ask him not to leave the hospital on February 14, 2007 as they did not think that he would make it due to the trauma that he received. Feb.28, 07 Terry has gone through what is believed to his last trip to the O.R. last night and today he is sitting up and talking as best he can. He is fully aware of all his injuries and in good sprites. Feb. 28,2007 The great new that we received today was that Terry is fully aware of his injuries and is looking to the day that he will get to go home. He has been sitting up and doing PT and will keep that will be part of his new day. It is our prayer that maybe he will be moved out of ICU by the end of the week and then on to rehab center. To know that 2 weeks ago today we did not know if he would live to being ready for rehab in this short time frame is all GOD that has done this. March 1, 2007 Lynn got the news that Terry will be moved out of ICU into a guarded care room and will remove his neck brace. He is also able to have all the water that he would want. This is truly great news. It only took him 16 days to go from this man should have been dead from the crash to leaving ICU and going to guarded care, GOD is good!! March 2, 2007 Terry has been moved today to his new room ( this is a guarded care room) and they have been slowly removing wires and monitors as they are not needed. The doctors had a cat scan to his chest and found a little blood and some scar tissue. March 3, 2007 The Dr. is going to go in and remove the blood and fluid and fix the scar tissue on Monday at or around 09:30. This seems to be a minor operation. Terry has been able to sleep easier now and when he is awake he is alert and improving everyday |
