Aliens: VP-70

(Status: project underway)

Raw VP70 cast - click for larger imageRaw VP70 cast - click for larger imageSD Studios was having a yard sale and I got this casting of a Heckler & Koch VP-70 for $25 shipped (June, 2001).  I couldn't turn it down since they sell them finished on their site for $120 + shipping and I thought it would look good with my dropship helmet once I get to it.  Actually, it turns out it's a casting by Peter Lukas from AIM.  I'd heard great things of Peter's work but this casting exceeded my expectations.  It is exceptionally clean and sharp.  There is very little flash, the most noticeable being the pour hole, and there are very few bubbles to deal with.
