May 14, 2004-- Excitement is brewing in Columbia as Athlon Sports Magazine released its preseason NCAA Football top 25.  Mizzou is ranked 11th in the poll.  The Tigers are coming off of an 8-5 season which saw a victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers for the first time in 25 years.  The 2004 version of the Missouri Football squad has been picked to win the Big 12 North Division title and features severl all Big 12 players including QB Brad Smith.

Pinkel Names Four Captains for 2004
Columbia-- Missouri Tiger Head Coach Gary Pinkel announced the four team captains for the 2004 football season. The players chosen in an election by their teammates are: Senior Linebacker James Kinney, Senior Defensive Lineman Atiyyah Ellison, senior tailback Beau Viehmann, and Junior quarterback Brad Smith.

Paige Sports Arena Under Construction
Columbia-- The brand new basketball facility on the University of Missouri campus will be home to both the men's and women's teams.  The completion date for the project has been set for October 1, 2004.  The new venue will seat approximately 15,000 fans and will replace the Hearnes Center which has served as home for Missoui Tigers basketball for over 30 years.
