Lawyers for the defense of Mike Danton have requested that the trial venue be changed and moved out of the St. Louis area. The defense team for Danton have asked for a change in venue in questioning the chances of an unbiased jury in the St. Louis area. Also, Danton's lawyers have requested that recorded phone call conversations between Danton and agent David Frost be banned as evidence from the trial, as well as any personal property obtained from Danton's appartment. Attorney Robert Haar asked that he be allowed to "quiz" would-be jurors to maximize the possibility of seating an impartial jury, according to ESPN.COM. Haar has received, but not responded to, telephone messages about whether a St. Louis based trial may work in Danton's favor because of possible Blues fans feeling sympathetic for Danton. If convicted, Danton faces up to 10 years in prison.
