The part for mixing the egg

  When producing this part, it needs a rotating screw axis. It can help to do the rotation action. When the ball rolls into the screw, there are two tracks that fix the ball to sure that the ball is moving vertically. After the ball rolls into the screw, the due to its weight, the spring will expand and then moves downwards so that the mixer can touch the egg carrier.

 

 

 The function of the screw is for rotation and drop down from its starting point to the egg carrier to mix the egg. Therefore, it needs to have to connect to the spring so that it will not keep dropping on the egg carrier due to gravity. Also, it should be independent to the spring so that it can rotate without limitation. As a result, the connection is produced. As the figure shown, the screw is just hold by the nail and there is a ring between the spring and the nail so that it can have less friction.

 

 

 

  As well as the upper part, the lower part is also required to fix so that the rotation can be done vertically. It shows the lower part of the screw when it is at rest. If it is working, it will move down and the rings will attach together and then start rotating.

 

 

 

 

  In figure above, the operation of rotating screw axis is shown. When the ball drops, the ball is fixed by the tracks. To combine with the screw, the ball cannot move to other direction since the sides and the base don not have any space. However the screw can rotate as it is only fixed at two end but independent to its rotation. When the screw rotates, the base which is holding the ball can be move up and down. Therefore, when the rolling ball move down due to gravity, the screw will turn clockwise and mix the egg.

Characteristics:

a)      The rings are not attached.

b)      The screw is inactive.

c)      The mixer under the screw is at a high position

d)      The egg carrier can pass below it.

e)      No force is acting on the rings.

 

 

 

 

Situation: Mixing the egg

 

Characteristics:

a)      The rings are attached together.

b)      The screw is rotating.

c)      The mixer under the screw is at a low position which is inside the egg.

d)      The egg carrier cannot pass below it.

e)      Force is acting on the rings due to the weight of the ball.
