Audio media is probably the most influencing aside from visual. And like all other forms of media it can have either positive or negative effects on the youth or the people of the country. For example a pop icon, "Christina Aguilera", teaches young girls that to be "sexy" you have to dress like a whore or a slut. Although the messages in her songs may be different ( I have never actually listened to her album) from what she is displaying to the public that is the only impression I can get. Another band that has a very large
influence on the youth in anti-flag. They're message is peace and that the government is corrupted, which is arguably not a positive message. The message of peace and that we can resolve our differences without having to fight wars. Although their other main message is that we need to invent a new form of media and so as the government can't control what we are allowed to see and hear. Although many of their songs could be considered to have a negative effect on the youth. In my opinion they are the most positive band of today.

The radio has a way of taking an average song and playing it, so often that everyone gets it stuck in their head and "loves" it. For example in the summer of 2003 the song "hey ya", by

"outkast" hit the radios. This song was played soooooo, much that people "loved" then slowly their "love" turned to hate, because the song was played soooooo, much. This technique has the same effect as the "I know a song that gets on everybodies nerves" song. At first you just wanna sing along then it gets to your head and it drives you insane. This is the repetition technique. But the more your song gets played the more people will remember.
