Ed Walsh had the best season by any pitcher in Classic League history to date. Walsh was 24-3 with a 2.12 ERA. Walsh took home both the Cy Young Award and the MVP. Walsh became the first pitcher to win the MVP. Walsh was the first pitcher to date to even earn an MVP vote.
