俗语：放（我，你，他）一马（码）
Slang: literally, "let off or let go one horse" or "one number"

例句1：居委会的老大妈对那个小伙子说：“只要你把烟头捡起来，并放到垃圾箱里，我就放你一马，不罚你钱了。”
Example 1: The matriarch of the neighborhood board said to that kid: "Only if you pick up that cigarette butt and throw it in the garbage will I let you off the hook and not fine you."

例句2：因为晚上与女朋友有约，所以司徒恳求主任放他一马，不要让他晚上加班。
Example 2: Because he had a date that evening with his girlfriend, Si Tu earnestly beseeched the boss to let him off without making him work an extra shift that night.

句型：凡是...都...
...all......are...

例句1：凡是诚心诚意承认错误的司机，交通警察都愿意放他们一马。
Example 1: The traffic police are willing to let all drivers, who wholeheartedly and in good faith admit their mistakes, off the hook.

例句2：在这个单位，凡是想出人头地的，似乎都容易受到攻击。真是应验了古人说的那句话：“木秀于林，风必摧之。”
Example 2: In this department, it seems likely that all who wish to excel above others will suffer vilification. This truly fulfills what the ancients said: "When a tree blossoms in the forest, the wind will surely destroy it."

我一边喝橘汁，一边用望远镜观看双子座在浩瀚的苍穹里相互拥抱。     

As I was drinking orange juice, I looked through the telescope to see the twins of Gemini hugging each other.

OR

他们光顾着相互拥抱，不小心把手中的橘汁撒到了那架名贵的望远镜上。

Because they were so caught up in cuddling with each other, they were not careful and the orange juice splashed all over the precious telescope.
