Who Is the Current Reunion Committee?

Some classmates have inquired as to who the Reunion Committee is. Its just 4 of us that have found each other over the past few months with a common goal - to start planning a reunion in lieu of waiting around to see if one was going to happen. Once we meet our Planning Fund goal we will be extending the committee and opportunities for anyone to help in any manner they wish. The reunion is expected to be August 2006 and not to conflict with the race weekend; if we meet our goal then we will formalize the date. Please make a donation today and ask others to as well.

Thank you!

Sue Durkin, Jon Barkley, Teresa Cramer & Mary Jo Savino

Ms. Sue Durkin
"I am employed by Corning Inc. in the Fiber Optics Development Group. I am married to Jim Sonner, WHS class of 1988 with 2 boys, Nick(age 14) and Devin (age 9). Nick is actually a freshman at West High this year. Devin attends All Saints Academy. We also have two cats, Heidi and Tigger. I am an avid sports fan- Season tickets to the Buffalo Bills. I often attend hockey, baseball games and NASCAR races. My favorite is to watch both of my boys play football, basketball, baseball, and bowling! Jim and I both bowl in leagues each week. I also have a thriving Mary Kay business!! Other activities include Harley motorcylce riding, camping, hanging out at the lakes, winery touring, and travelling. I love to go to the beach! I enjoy planning parties and events and hope to help make this reunion a huge success".

Mr. Jon Barkley

"I work for Entre Computer Services in Rochester NY as a network administrator. I married Barbara Cummings in 1999. I have two beautiful girls, Sara age 5 and Paige age 4. My pastimes include bowling, and golf. My wife and I bowl together. I have been a bowling league secretary/ treasurer so when asked to be Treasurer for the reunion, I accepted. My goal is for us to make this reunion a reality and to lighten the work load for everyone on the planning team."

Ms. Teresa Cramer

"It is with great pleasure that I serve our class as Correspondence Secretary! Known as Teresa Cramer prior to 1991, I am now known as Teresa Cramer Hubbard, after my marriage of 14 years to my dear husband David. However, the name I answer to most often, not unlike many of you, is “mommy!”, as we have been blessed with three bundles of pure joy!...Madelyn Claire (5), Davidson Bedford (4), and Gracie Camille (2). Charlotte, North Carolina has become home to us, and our yellow Labrador Retriever, Champ. We enjoy just being together as a family…wherever that takes us (especially when that means coming home for our twentieth class reunion)! My responsibilities as Correspondence Secretary include the mailing of thank you notes to those of you who feel led to generously contribute to our reunion endeavor in any capacity. Many thanks in advance, to you, for all that we can do as we work together! Thanks too, Mary Jo Savino for the gift of you! You have done an amazing job thus far, and on behalf of our class, please know your labor is not in vain as we anticipate our best reunion yet!“

Ms. Mary Jo Savino

"I attended the 10th reunion* and had a blast; could not make the 15th* and wanted to be sure a 20th happened. Spent about 6 months of 2004 in Corning and also a good part of that year catching up, one-on-one with each of the Senior Year officers to see if they were going to plan one, and if not - did I have their blessing. Spring 2005, I called the first reunion meeting with announcements in the Leader and on Classmates.com; Sue Durkin was the solo attendee. Together we kept each other motivated and inspired - while juggling our lives. This December we had another meeting where a few more showed. Since then we've had online meetings and in person meetings - slowly stretching this group of volunteers from our class - yeah!
More personally, I am fortunate that this reunion stuff is bit familiar to me. I worked at MIT in their Reunions Division and also at RIT in similar capacities. For fun, I organized and executed "Xi Reunion 2000" for my sorority at RIT - the first ever reunion of its caliber. My former life was in catering and meeting planning and I currently offer select event planning under the guise "Gatherings & Such". I am looking forward to bringing what I've learned, paired with my excitement to see ye ole gang again to create a fantastic (long) reunion weekend. I live in Boston, work for an Internet company (currently www.chocolate.com) and am enrolled in a program at Harvard. I have a house rabbit named Lacey. My folks still live in Corning so we try to get home about 6x a year now. I guess, I've seen, done and lived some interesting paths; more on that later - see you in August"

* a formal shout out to Ellen Baker and Julie Schoenthal for planning the 10th; and to Kathy Blencowe and Kris Katt for planning the 15th - ladies you rock!
