Fundacion Colegio Americano de Quito
This is where i work and to be honest it scared the heck out of me before i arrived. You see i went from teaching at a school of 120 (pre-k thru 12) to a school that has more than 250 teachers! It has been fantastic though and it really doesn't feel too big. The campus is beautiful, the kids seem cool, the admin is supportive and the other teachers are great.cheers,
mark
Leaving to catch the school bus (pre 7:00!!!) here the moon is seen over Pinchincha. The bus to school. On the left are Craig and John and on the right is Jordan. As we get closer to the school which is in the far north the giant of the south Cotapaxi peeks its head into view on clear days. The snow capped Cotapaxi is beautiful and is usually covered in cloud before we head home after school. Here it is where all the magic happens. I share my classroom with the grade seven computer teacher who is a great guy and a wealth of local information being that he is Ecuadorian. We are both also taking are Masters so we can hopefully help each other out. Inside the door during a rare moment when the lab is empty. Look at one of my five sections of angels writing their tests. These lovely ladies hang out at the school and are really really cool. I guess they were brought here from the Galapagos years and years ago and are now just part of the school. They are huge and used to people so you can pet and feed them. Here some elementary students enjoy hanging out with the ladies just outside of my classroom. if you wan't to see the official school website (currently being redesigned by a friend of mine Jerry) click here.
