One of the really good guys here is named Daniel.  He is Venezuelan and we chill out alot.  I remember when we first got here i was amazed at the research he had put into what football team he was going to support.  When i asked him why he responded with "you have to realize you are choosing for generations."  I thought it was hilarious but am happy that I choose the way that i did.
Deportivo Quito Corazon!

I bought their jersey before the first game that i went to, and have watched them dominate any and every opportunity that i get.
As you might imagine football is nuts here, and i take the opportunity to freshen up on my Spanish swear words.

cheers,
mark

The energy outside the stadium is electric, the vendors remind me of phishing, selling a hundred and one different foods and nick nacks to support your team.
I always sit on the 'popular' side of the stadium (read: cheap tickets and better atmosphere) we look across to the good seats in the shade (the sun here can kill you at noon!) and to Pinchincha behind.
If you want to learn how to insult someone in Spanish, these guys must be the best teachers in the entire country.  I am slowly learning the songs (as well as the insults) and hope to complete transform into a hooligan before too long.

If you want to look at the official website click on the man below (its in Spanish)
