| A
flag made in memory of 9/11 for my sons father in law Darrell Hays,
who is a retired firefighter from Denver, Colorado. The patch on
the quilt was given to me by the Denver Fire department. The fire
hydrants and the dogs were printed from my computer directly onto
the fabric before piecing. |

quilt has a combination of piecing and hand applique. The quilting
is custom in each of the pieced blocks and cross hatching behind
the hand appliqued blocks. The quilt was made by Maria for her son
and daughter in law for their 3rd wedding anniversary, September
2001. |
