Fashingled
Ideally for ~5-7 players

I learned this at Gamicon this year, though it had a not-ideal-for-dinner-parties name at the time.

Everyone needs some blank sheets of paper and a writing utensil, preferably with an eraser. Sit around a table or simply in a circle. Everyone writes their name at the bottom of a sheet of paper, then writes a phrase at the very top of it. The phrase can be anything -- old saying, new thoughts, book titles, whatever you wish. Pass the papers one person clockwise. Each person now draws what the previous person wrote. We did this without time limits; try to keep it quick, or impose limits if you prefer. When done drawing, everyone folds back the phrase so that only the drawing is visible, then passes the paper to the next person. This next person writes what they think the drawing is, then folds back the drawing and passes it on; the next person draws what they see written, and so on until it comes back to the original person. If playing with a large number of people, an optional variants is to simply stop after a desired number of passes and then give the sheets back to their originators. Everyone then takes turns sharing what their original phrase was and what happened to it along the way, and does a lot of laughing.

LYNDA SAYS: Every year at Gamicon I sit and work the registration desk all weekend long, usually playing a token one game just since it's a gaming convention and all that. This year it was Fashingled (under different name, as per above; the revised handle is a creation of my aunt Jacqui's). I laughed so hard during the rounds of it there that I knew I had to share it with people at home. Whee!
