Why should you support SHM?The organization has grown from its humble beginning to where it stands today. All this has been possible due to the modest support from the people in the community as well as the few who got attracted by reading the articles in the press. This has happened in spite of the narrow minded and conservative attitude of the people of the area. To a certain extent, we have succeeded in a complete turnaround of their thoughts and ideals Thus, if you support SHM, is there a limit where we can go?We have got the following schemes for donations and sponsorships. However supporters of our cause are free to donate in any other form that they deem fit. The schemes are as follows:
Illiteracy elimination programme(IEP)
Hereby you get the chance to sponsor the education of one child for one year. The name of the child will be communicated to you and we shall be ready to tell his progress anytime you want. The child will be chosen on the basis of need and sincerity if you do not ask for any particular child. He or she will be sent to a public school and we will take care of his home assignments and other guidance needs. The amount includes the cost of books, stationery, uniform and vocational training on weekends.
Under this scheme you can sponsor a month of conducting this programme. Your contribution will take care of all expenses regarding the project for the month. However it excludes the cost of the proposed midday meal scheme.
Girl Child empowerment and self reliant programme (GCESRP)
Under this scheme you can buy a sewing machine for us, so that we can train 10 more girls under this project. Alternatively you can donate a sum of Rs. 1500, the cost of the machine and we will buy the machine ourselves.
Under this scheme you can fund a month’s training for the girls. It includes the cost of teachers and materials provided to the students.
Computer Literacy Programme (CLP)
Under this scheme you can donate an old or a new computer. Alternatively you can donate a sum of Rs 20000 towards the cost of the machine and we swill buy it ourselves.
Under this scheme you can sponsor the computer literacy of a student. One module will last for around 3 months and the amount will include the cost of books, stationery, and instruction and computer usage.
High School
Though a school is still a distant dream we will need funds to bring the dreams to reality. You can donate any amount that you deem fit towards this cause. The funds donated now shall be kept in a separate account and shall be used only for this purpose once the project starts. The presence of some funds with us for this purpose will give us the confidence to proceed with such a mammoth task.
Sponsor the Cause
Apart from the above you may contribute in cash or kind any amount or equipment that you think will help us serve our cause better. The amount or equipment shall be used in the best interests of the children Samaritan Help Mission has undertaken to serve. |
