Wild West Casino Night Raises Money for Charity

Mallard Bay is a private residential community located on Virginia's "Northern Neck", a peninsula bounded by the Potomac River, the Chesapeake Bay and the Rappahannock River.  The community consists of 265 acres fronting on the headwaters of  the Great Wicomico River, which flows into the Chesapeake ten miles downstream.  Its wooded hills compliment the tranquil beauty of the river.

The community offers something for everyone in the family to enjoy.  A spacious clubhouse with entertainment facilities, stone fireplace, kitchen, outdoor deck, swimming pool and tennis court (one of three on the property) overlooks the river.  Children can enjoy the jungle gym on the playground.  Those who relish a quiet day on the Great Wicomico, a saltwater river, can make use of boat slips, a separate crabbing pier with floating kayak/canoe dock and a private boat launching ramp.  The well-protected river, almost always mirror calm, is perfect for fishing, crabbing, sailing, power boating, and canoeing.  The hiking and jogging trails give pleasure to all who delight in the natural beauty of the area enhanced by the picturesque setting of two freshwater lakes and three ponds.  Wildlife that can be seen regularly include deer, otter, beaver, turtles, herons, eagles, turkeys, geese and osprey.

Developed by The Bay Company, the overall landscape design plan for Mallard Bay and its common areas is the work of Ralph Higgins, a Virginia landscape architect.  The clubhouse was designed by William Darwin Prillaman, A.I.A.
