Welcome today
In 2020 my beloved sweet wife of 51 years died from Covid-19 and so I have decided
to increase this site hoping the work will keep me going now - work in
progress . . .
Back in 2015 I was determined to devote
time to my grandfather
Robert Madeley - Shrewsbury Town butcher of 41 High Stree for over a
decade - a WWI hero who died at the Somme in 1916. I was born 30
years after he died in France over 100 years ago.
This was my
tribute to him and an attempt to know him by exploring his life and the places he lived
and died.
I started with a blank canvas but now I feel like I knew him. When you read
his story - you may feel that way too.

I have 2500 people in the database -
all related to Rees Price b. 1825 and John Madeley b.1784 including
their ancestors.
In the 90s I researched the family on
my mother's side Madeley and on my father's side Price and so now I am
going to start listing those related people. I am starting first with
Rees Price and later on I will move on to John Madeley.
Rees Price was married to Frances
Edwards b. 1827 and they lived and worked Pen-y-cefn Farm in
Halfway, Powys near Sennybridge. They had 9 children and my aim is that
this year I will list all the descendants of those children and those of
John Madeley.
The people in the registers of Rees
Price and John Madeley are related in their particular tree but of
course all are related to me.
For example Lorrain Castle in Florida
is my second cousin twice removed and her children are second cousins
thrice removed - and so to see all my relatives just go
here. One of them may be related to you
too.
