The future wife of Robert, Ida Ellen Key, also lived in
Shrewsbury in 1901.
Ida was single and 23 and worked as parlour maid in a rather
large house called Whitehall. It is now known as Whitehall Mansion.
Whitehall was down the hill from Robert
and his butchers shop, and across the River
Severn in Monkmoor parish.
Also at the house with Ida was Emily Tams the cook, and Sarah Rogers the
housemaid.
They all worked for Willam Kynnersley and his daughter Ida.
The building is protected by Grade
II listing.
