FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being the pompous person I am, I made a FAQ even though no one's really asked me anything. Hopefully, if you do have a question, it's answered here. If you have any additional things to ask about though, please go to the Contact page and tell me about it.
May I do artwork/writing based on the graphic novel?
As mentioned on the About page, the calendar this time around will be based on the movie version, so no. The main reason for that is that we don't want the calendar to be too broad in terms of what it covers, and the movie is probably more accessible to a general audience. Maybe next year though :)
I'd like to do some art, but I can't draw!
That's perfectly all right! Photo collaging (ie. taking different images and splicing them togther) is more than welcome. However, we do want the calendar to be mostly drawn fanart, so openings for this kind of art are very limited.
Is there a certain style of art I need to draw in?
Of course not! Disney-esque, realistic sketching, manga, it's all good. But we ARE looking for variety, so keep your options open.
I didn't get a role for some reason, but I'd still like to help. What can I do?
First off, I'm really sorry if you didn't get a position you wanted. Secondly, there's lots of other stuff you can help out with: beta-reading, continuity checks, spreading the word about the project, etc. You could also always ask the artists and writers if they need any help with stuff.
I don't like the writer/artist I was paired up with. What can I do?
I don't think this will be a problem, but if it is, please try and work something out. If it's a huge issue, then please contact me and I will do what I can.
May I archive/distribute the art or use it for some use other than as a personal calendar?
Preferably no, especially if it's for commericial reasons. As for archiving the art, please contact the individual artists about it. When the project gets underway, their contact info will be made available.
Are the calendars going to be bound and sold online?
This is a non-profit project that we're all doing for fun, so no. You'll have to download and print out the pages yourself and get them bound in some way.
That's all fine and dandy, but what's YOUR role?
For the most part, I'll be keeping everything together and organzining the whole thing. I will also be doing the credits page for the finished calendar. And I'm available to do any Photoshop inking/CGing for those who need it as well as fill-in art.
