NOTE:
My web pages were offline for a couple of years after they disappeared
off Geocities. I managed to recover most of my files from an archive
site, but not everything was archived. I'm in the process of cleaning
things up, so some of the links might not work. Thanks for visiting my
site!
Here's an assortment of
links that I found very useful before, during, and after
my immigration process. Many of them of are included on
my web pages, but it's nice to have all the links
compiled in one location. Feel free to bookmark this
page. If you arrived at this page directly from another
site or search engine, please don't forget to
visit
my home page and
the rest of my site.

than me. Check out her detailed step-by-step
progress through they immigration experience.
Congratulations, Beck!

- Health
Services Canada (no link)
- To check if your
medicals were received. I think it's best to call
the examining physician's office first to see if
they forwarded the medical results. If they did,
and after a long time (about six weeks since the
medical exam) no correspondence has been received
from the Consulate, it might be a good idea to see
if they were received. I think this number only
applies to medicals that are sent to Ottawa. I
don't know if ALL medicals are sent there. Their
number is (613) 941-5046 and they need the
applicant's file number.

Bringing
Pets
- National
Animal Health Program
They are responsible for establishing import
requirements for animals and animal productsYou
need to be able to certify that your pet has had
all necessary shots. Upon arrival your pet will be
examined by a vet. I was told by customs that they
usually have a vet at Vancouver's airport and costs
about $30. If the pet is part of your settler's
effects no duty tax will be issued. A quarantine
will only apply if the vet deems it necessary.
Quarantine is not automatic. That's all I know. Get
details directly from the link.
