Below is an actual example of an employer's reference letter. Feel free to use and modify as necessary.

Mr. <...> was initially hired to work at <...> as a User Services Specialist in October 1997 at the rate of $<...>/hr. His pay was increased to $<...>/hr in February 1998 and he was promoted to Information Technology Professional after his completion of Novell CNE courses in June 1998.

During his employment as User Services Specialist, Mr. <...> performed the following duties:

  • Installing, configuring and upgrading personal computer hardware and software;
  • Performing hardware troubleshooting and repairs;
  • Providing remote and on-site user support;
