Tanichthys albonubes, the white cloud is extremely undemanding regarding the temperature. One keeps it best at temperatures between 16 and 24� C; even if the temperature falls to 4�, it will not damage the Fishes. If the water temperature rises to 20� C, the fish Breed willingly. The mating takes place between the plants. The eggs cling well and remain hanging between the plants. During longer periods the fish Breed nearly daily. They hardly pursue their Egg ore the hatchet young fish, If there well feed! For Breeding use a not to small aquariums, with lots of plants like Elodea or wisteria, and riccia or Water sprite on the surface. The water composition is insignificant, the fish to well in hard as in soft water. Breeding are possible with up to a water hardness of 25� DH. Depending upon temperature the young fish swim free after 5 to 6 day. The fry stays first closely under the surface, where the fry Feeds on fine live and try food. Use about 4 to 6 pair for breeding in a 60 cm Tank and feed them with Flake or other try food. From time to time give them some Grindals or Enchytraeen. Keep all planitairian and snails away from the breeding Tank. Every 14 days replace a third off the water with fresh water. Remove Young fish of approximately 10 mm size occasionally from the breeding aquarium. After 12 to15 months they are ready to breed, however one receives really good resold only from at least 18 month old animals.
