Loaded in with help from the good people of the Morris Performing Arts Center. There were serious electrical problems though, so we weren't going to set up until right before we went on. Resultingly, there was time for dinner. And what a dinner it was! We dined most heartily, warmed up, received our guests, Heather and Amy, and then took the stage. It was a delightful theatre in downtown South Bend, ripe for the rocking. A couple songs in, I informed the crowd that Tim Ferrell was a Notre Dame alumnus, and it was shooting fish in a barrel after that. We rocked what was by the end of the set, a full house, and then skittered offstage to make room for O.A.R. The crowd was awesome! Hung out. Kept it real. Met some good peoples. O.A.R. rocked per usual. Retired to the hotel for some much-needed sleep. Albion, Michigan called our name. Actually they were calling O.A.R. and it said Ludo in parentheses. Which works for us! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, 4/20/07 Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) Arrived in the Hoosier State after overcoming myriad travel obstacles. Bloomington is a gorgeous college town four hours from St. Louis, that somehow Ludo had just never made it to. A crime, I know. But tonight, we wuld be fighting for the cream and crimson, and singing the Hoosier battle cry for all to hear. The theatre where we were playing was ridiculous. A beautiful 4,000-seat venue was not a bad place to play your first show in a town. We loaded in, set up onstage, and prepared to soundcheck. Unfortunately, this made us miss celebrating 4:20 on 4/20 by like getting high or making hemp jewelry or whatever. But you could just feel the entire Eastern time zone lighting up and toking in celebration. Legalize it! Or at least make it more easily accessible in prison. You know, so that if you get busted and have to do time, you'll be able to keep smoking weed behind bars. Always thinking, me. Anywho, the sound was GREAT, we dropped our stuff in our dressing room, and then had a delight-filled dinner chatting with Richard from O.A.R. about, you know, band stuff (e.g. "What's your favorite hotel to trash?" and "What's your favorite rock-out stance?" and "How long do you wait before coming out for an encore?"). Actually, no one talks like that. Well, if they do, they're HUGELY DOUCHETASTIC. Whatever, Richard was tres cool, the food was splendid, and we had some warm-ups to bust out. We did group vocal stuff in our dressing room to get ready, we made sure everyone made potty, and then at 7:30 we took stage, and rocked better than either of the previous two nights. The crowd started out at about 300 spread all around the auditorium, but by the time we were finished, it was probably around 3,000. We definitely got some love from the St. Louis contingent that either went to school at I.U., or just made the trip for the show. I sang "Hum Along" like an asshole, and there were some other flubs here and there, but overall, it was the best show of the tour so far - certainly the crowd was more into it than ever. It was awesome. Then, we loaded out with ample help from the crew and watched most of a sizzling O.A.R. set. They owned. Or at least, they rented, because they had to give it back to the people of Bloomington after the show. Said our night-night's, vanned up, and headed out around 11:30, drearily aware that we had a 7- or 8-hour drive ahead of us, and an 11:00am load-in, followed by a 3:30pm show. It's gonna be ugly, folks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 9/30/06 Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, IN) After a gigantic night's sleep, we hopped in el vanno, and finished off the 9-hour trip from the Twin Cities to Valparaiso, Indianner. Arriving at Huegli Lawn (pronounced HUE-glee for those of you who do not wish to mocked by those who cannot comprehend mispronunciations of foreign and ambiguous proper nouns) ten minutes behind schedule, we found there was no one in sight, and certainly no stage. Stumped, we asked around and found out we were to be playing in the Great Hall of the Union or Something Like That. Sounded great to us. We loaded in, set up, and soundchecked extensively with the 6-man crew running sound for us. It was awesome. Heather the Great (Greather) drove up and ran merch for us, while Nick Thunderchops Sergeniocola popped out of one of the hoodie bins. A stowaway! Little boy, you can't be here, we told him. But he insisted he had always wanted to run away and join a troupe of music-pirates so we gave him an eyepatch and set him to work. Megs-n-jen appeared like religious visages and hung out with us. The peoples poured in and at eight o'clock we eight o'rocked! Eight o'awesome. We had not been to Valparaiso except for one time 18 months earlier, so we were long overdue, and the crowd reacted as such. They were a good mix of old fans and Ludo Virgins, which is ideal, and we gave them everything we had. Intense! We went insane during Good Will Hunting By Myself, mostly led by my monkeyous antics, closed it out hard, and encored with The Buster. Sex! After the show, we signed all manner of crap, hugged, photoed, packed up, loaded out, and headed with all the Union Boardies to Buffalo Wild Wings, where things got spicy! Why the hell do they call it BW3's? It seems to me there are only 2 W's involved here. Then again I am poorly educated, so pay no attention to my wild theories on chicken wing establishment name abbreviations. P.S. Have you ever stopped and thought about how many chickens they must have to murder in order to keep these places stocked. I felt like I was swimming in chicken parts. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but seriously. There must be whole tribes of people who only kill chickens 24 hours a day every day, to keep the BW3's and KFC's running. They need to invent a machine that mass-produces dead chickens. We slept at the Hilton Garden Inn. So nice! But they skimp on pillows. Love. Byee! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, 8/11/06 Monon Coffeehouse - Midwest Music Summit (Indianapolis, IN) It had been three years and three days since Ludo played their first full-band show together at the Midwest Music Summit 2003. That show, by the way, was shit-piss awful. If I recall correctly, which I do, none of the backline really worked, Matt's kick drum slid across the floor away from him as he played, and we were being mercilessly heckled by 1:30 am bar-assholes. It was great. But not this time! We showed up at the Monon Coffeehouse after a delightful night of sleep at the Ball Family residence, grabbed a bite to eat and then loaded in. We were playing in a tent behind the coffeehouse thankfully, as inside there was only enough room for a singer-songwriter and maybe some forlorn wistfulness. In poured the Hoosiers from various nooks and crannies with names like Indianapolis, Muncie, Marion, and Valparaiso. There were about 100 people watching all told when we started the rocking and despite our two-week hiatus, the rock flowed rather easily from our loins. Half-hour of power and it was all over. We hung out for quite awhile, taking pictures and signing whatnots, broke down, loaded out, and retired back to the Balls'. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 2/11/06 Carmel Performing Arts Center (Carmel, IN) On I-70, there was intermittent blizzarding as we drove up. Nothing, then flurries, then terrifying whiteout blindness, then nothing, then flurries... would the insanity stop? Quite crazy! But we drove prudently and persistently to make our 4:00 arrival time with relative approximacy, loaded in and set up merch. We were going to be 4th (5th? 6th?) of 8 bands (7? 9? 6?) and since the show started at 7:30 (5:30? 8:00?), we knew Ludo would be playing around 8:45 (8:30? 7:30? 9:00? 9:15? 9:45?), so we told people to get there at half-past feighxeven fifteerty o'clock pm (add an hour for the time change). The place was cool, and many kids would show up, but the sound was pretty much, well, grab-baggy at best. We had no monitors onstage. Matt was on a double riser, so he was sitting seventeen feet above the rest of us. Convy joked that we'd have to shoot a flare to communicate with him. Everyone laughed at Convy's great joke. My microphone was a wireless taped to a straight stand with minimal bendiness. If I adjusted it, it cut out. None of us could hear what anyone else onstage was doing ever, and hearing what you were doing was a rare treat. We switched mics three different times throughout the course of the show. Many of the people working there seemed to relish the lack of order, delighting in the chaos that surrounded every part of the night. Other people were freaking out, pleading with the indifferent to help them fix the problems. Meanwhile, the times, they were a-changin'. No one had any actual idea of when any band was to play and for how long. We were asked to move our slot three times. The last time, we declined as we had fans who'd driven from Chicago and Muncie who had arrived as instructed at 5:30 and were still without a Ludo show at 9:30. The place was absolutely overrun with kids. Nary an adult in sight. Which on one hand is cool. And on the other hand is absolutely insane when none of the doors are locked in the complex, rooms are raided, corners are made out in, pre-schoolers' artwork is taken, and the like. It was as though we'd stumbled on a world invented by adults and then overtaken by children (see: Children of the Corn). It's not like they were bad kids. They just shouldn't be allowed free reign to run wild throughout the entire building. Clearly, no one held the conch, but screw it, Ludo was there to play a rock show. On a side note, I have never seen more scene-hair in my entire life. It was amazing. Everywhere I looked there were beautifully flat-ironed bangs and perfectly gel spiked hair tufts. I thought Edward Scissorhands was doing hair in a salon next door. We played a bunch of songs, rocked the people as best we knew how amidst the naked-bleeding-on-fireness of the show, and then loaded out the back. Hung around for a couple more bands, met peoples and whatnots, said our goodbyes and hit the road. It should be a cool place to play in the future, assuming next time there's adequate sound. And on another side note, I think they should lock the preschool/ballet room during rock shows. I don't know, call me a reformist. And on an additional and final side note, the drive home was exactly as long as the drive there. Then we went to bed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, 8/16/05 The Indiana State Fair (Indianapolis, IN) A tickly, tumbly, tater-tot-tastic drive 250 miles from St. Louis to Indianapolis. Back at the crossroads of America! Sweet. We entered the fairgrounds under the direction of several mustached police officers until our escort arrived to navigate our van through the ocean of Hoosiers and clowns. We wouldn't have been able to back our van back out of the narrow passageway between large refrigerated trucks, so we had to park a few hundred yards from the stage and schlep it on down. Fortunately, our Indianananan superninjas were to the rescue and they helped us generously, as did the Fair-buddies who employed the magic of the golf cart to help transport some of our crap. We got there and set up in a jiffy. All my lovely Indiana kin showed up in support, which tickled my fanciful fancy fancifully. We played a 45-minute set, took a break, and then played a second 45-minute set, repeating Hum Along and Broken Bride only. We opened the second set with Ferrell's and my bountiful version of Can't Help Falling in Love with You, which was way too much. The fair passersby and listeners extraordinaire seemed delighted and occasionally wonderfied by our musicalification. The only negative reaction I could make out was from some band-douches who showed up with cutting-edge mid-Indiana rockstyle. I saw them coming a mile away - I could nearly smell their pretentious pseudo-intellectualism. It reeked of doucherie. And as though operating from a script, they scoffed at everything we did. It was awesome. Unfortunately though, they were the coolest people around, so it really mattered that they didn't like us. All in all, it was far cooler than we even expected. We played to probably a hundred or so people at a time, and they were more than enthusiastic, and a serendipitously great number of kids knew all the words and sang along. Afterwards, at the merch table we met tons of peeps, sold tons of crap, loaded out (with more ninja help), rode some rides, and drove to Chicago. I particularly enjoyed the pork exhibit, and particularly feared the preponderance of clowns. There was a large plastic pineapple and everyone seemed to be eating the largest cob of corn I'd ever seen. I never did get to see Switchfoot play. Or the 1,100-pound hog. Sad face. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 7/23/05 Jillian's - Midwest Music Summit (Indianapolis, IN) Indianapolis: the crossroads of Indiana. Indiana: the crossroads of America. America: the crossroads of North America. North America: the crossroads of the world. The world: the crossroads of the solar system. The solar system: the crossroads of the Milky Way. The Milky Way: a rather obnoxiously out-of-the-way corner of the universe. Which ultimately leads to Indianapolis being no more of a prime location than any other city in our galaxy. Enter the Midwest Music Summit: a cluster-bang of music peoples, movers and shakers. It is more or less a convention for people who dramatically underdress and LOVE wearing laminates that prove they're still allowed to be there. We hung out with our buddy-friend Noah all weekend. He was quite a treat. We got caught in a parking garage underground while a tornado threatened to destroy Indianapolis. That was cool. Then on Friday, we checked out Tim Convy's explosive expertise as a panelist on the Media Guide service. And then we took in Noah's scintillating insights into management at another panel. He's really got his act together, that guy. Then we loaded in at Jillian's and played a rock show that would alter very little in the course of history, but it certainly rocked people's faces off. That night, a few of us retired to my aunt-and-uncle's house to our basement hideaway. Others of us went to hang out at some hotel, and ultimately befriended, hung out with, and considered going swimming with the guitarist from the Black Crowes and his lawyer. You'll have to ask them. I wasn't there. I was writing "Morning in May" lyrics and then sleeping on my face. The next day, we did a ridiculous amount of browsing at the NAMM Conference, where every single piece of musical equipment imaginable is on display in its most excellent prototypical version, filling a convention center with endless booths. It was sweet. Everyone found awesome toys. That night we hung out with Noah at Hooter's and then hit Broad Ripple with some new-found friends, while Marshall and Ferrell hung out with the Black Crowes guy and his lawyer again. The next day, we drove to Chicago. Whee... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday, 4/27/05 Ball State University Student Center - The Tally (Muncie, IN) Oh you crazy Muncekins. Arrived in Chicago at like 10:00 Tuesday morning, slept all day at Rob's (Jeff moved out... boo!), ate Carmen's Pizza, brought in an amp, the moog, and some acoustic guitars, and practiced that song about the apocalypse and Mr. Mayor and stuff. Slept again and drove to Muncie. Loaded in, checked into our hotel rooms upstairs, joined Chris from UPB at Greek's Pizza, convinced some Pi Phis not to come to our show that evening, and headed back to the Tally, where we soundchecked with Mr. Mayor again. Amsterband high-fived us, because they're awesome, loaded in fresh off a hot stint with The Effects (and on their way out to NYC) and soundchecked themselves. We ran upstairs, some of us showered, we had a band meeting, and then reconvened downstairs to enjoy Amsterband's set (the first half of which we regrettably missed). We high-fived them again for all their bluegrassy rockings, and took the stage to do our thang. On our first song, Good Will Hunting By Myself, Convy decided it would be awesome to HIT HIS FACE on the moog. That's right. HIS FACE. Blood poured out of his eyebrow, he removed his sock, and held it to his eye, while he rocked. He didn't look too good. And I don't think his sock was that clean. God he was bleeding. We then continued on with our hour-long set, while he bled and was confused. We ended with a debut of the Mr. Mayor song, and Hum Along. Marshall, Matt and I hung out with all the 21+ Muncekins later that night at a bar and hung out until closing, while Tim took Tim to the emergency room, where he got some dermaglue on his gaping eyebrow wound. No. The other Tim. The injured one. He's fine. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, 4/10/05 Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, IN) Upon the cessation of our two hour nap, we got up fully well rested (except not), hopped in the van, and hauled ass to Valparaiso, IN. Valpo was playing host to Something Corporate and Motion City Soundtrack that night. And Ludo was coming with, by God! After a superbo interview with the illustrious Kim of the university paper, we soundchecked like bears, enjoyed the hospitality room like bears, and then warmed up. Pretty much like bears. They opened the doors and 1,400 people came in to the university gym. Which is totally a lot. p.s. It was hotter than balls in there BEFORE they opened the doors. Then all those little 98.6 degree Hoosier go-bots came streaming in and the place turned into a huge sauna. You know. One of those saunas where you can also play basketball. Then we started a-rockin. And we didn't stop until our set was over! I had some obnoxious difficulties however (broke a string, my guitar wouldn't stay in tune), and it was throwing off my game. But our rockingage prevailed. We immediately loaded out with the help of what must have been half the student population at the school. It was the quickest loading and unloading Ludo has ever had the pleasure of having. Then we got to meet all the peeps! And lemme tell ya. There are some cool-ass mofos in and around Valpo. That was some of the most fun I've had mingling and taking pictures and whatnot after a show in a long time. SCORE! Then we packed up and followed the incredi-bable Kim back to Chez Her, where we luxriously took over her floor, played Atari, drank Kool-Aid, and laughed about crap. Her hospitality was delicious. As was the diner fare we enjoyed with her the next day for lunch, while she grilled us more intently for the article. She was asking us deep questions that made us confess terrible things and cry. Not really, but that would be funny and inappropriate so I wanted to say it. After our tear-choking goodbyes (HUGS!), we saluted Valparaiso and drove off into the sunset (note: the sun was not actualy setting at that point - but we WERE driving west... does that count?). All in all, a bad-ass show. The whole crew at Valparaiso University were awesome. It was great to work with them, because everyone was so damn polite and (AND!) competent... go figure! MVP's go out to the Amazingest Mimi (and her one-woman clinic on how to prepare merchandise before a big show), Megs-n-Jen, and our militantly stealthy Muncie ninjas, not to mention the voluptuously road-tripping Mischievous Capesters, who drove all the way from Cape Girardeau, MO, and were instrumental in Ludo's success that night. Ludo loves their people. So much. Bears. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 4/2/05 University of Indianapolis (Indianapolis, IN) Well hello Indiana!!! It has been too long. Too long indeed. Our first time to Indianapolis since the first date of Breaking Fall, and our first time to U of Indy ever. They were excruciatingly hospitably awesome there. It was to be "An Evening with Ludo," and Ludo was effing ready! It was a nice-ass theater there at the university. Megs and Jen swung in like sardonically irreverent angels of rock appreciation, and deliciously sold our merch like winners of all life contests. All our beautiful Indiana peoples streamed into the theater when the doors opened. Then we took the stage, and gave them an appreciative and loving 75 minutes of Ludo rockification. It was a super-fun show. Much of my mom's side of the family was in attendance, including my 85-year old grandmother (Grammie), who was catching her first Ludo show. She found, serendipitously I'm sure, that she didn't even need her hearing aids to appreciate the show. Our Wickes-helmed Marion contingent and our devoted Muncie faithful were there rocking in full force. Afterwards we hung out in the lobby and took pictures and signed stuff and talkef to all the lovelies of Indianan origin. Then we goodnighted them and headed out to Jimmy Buffett's Cheeseburger in Paradise, where the university was gorgeous enough to buy us din-din. We had chocolate nachos for dessert. That was confusing. Finally, we retired to the awesome Holiday Inn Express, also provided by the university, and slept each in our own beds - just like full-grown adult men. YAY! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, 8/31/04 The House (Indianapolis, IN) The House is an all-ages venue in a mall in Indianapolis. Ludo is a rock band from outer space. After staying up all night listening to the Colts' star quarterback make sweet love to a man with an excellent long-range jumpshot, we were poised to drop the rock on the Crossroads of America. Breaking Fall hath begun. The Dog and Everything sailed up in their pirate ship. Anything But Joey landed in their interstellar Jedi cruiser. Speaking of Jedi, the very cool "Brad" who set us up with the show at the House, was wearing a long, flowing cloak-type outfit that made him look like a young Obi-Wan Kenobi. Very excellent. Thanks to Benchmark Records and The House for hosting the opening night of Breaking Fall. Anyway, out came the Muncekins, as did our Indy contingent, and we all rocked like it was the last day of August. Then we hung out outside for awhile as the Vanilla Gorilla tried to fix our dolly tire. At which point he took it upon himself to destroy the good tire. Don't trust large, mohawked, Napervillian men with Mexican last names. They'll ruin your dolly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, 8/27/04 Ball State University Quad Bash (Muncie, IN) And so the Muncekins welcomed the triumphant return of Ludo! We had missed their Ball-licious ways. This time, not only did we bring the Cat and Nothing, but we also brought Muncie-virgins, super-band Anchondo... and they went over like watermelon at a picnic! Quad Bash was precariously set up in a giant "quad" or "quadrangle." A quadrangle is a rectangular area surrounded on all four sides by buildings. That's what this was. The "bash" portion of "Quad Bash" was provided by a gigantic outdoor movie screen that would ultimately show Kill Bill Vol. 2, a number of huge inflatable things, a corridor of tables where gaggles of sorority girls and other club enthusiasts pushed their evil agendae, and finally a stage-ish area in front of the newly existent Ball State Art Museum. That's where we rocked the crap from Muncie's bowels (they'll be incontinent for months... sorry gang!). Unfortunately we were playing in front of a large, cordoned-off area (a quadrilateral if you will), where someone was desperately trying to grow grass, effectively creating a thirty-foot grass moat between us and the crowd. But our trusty Indiana-buddies snuck up to the front of it and festooned themselves all in front of, above and around the stage. We rocked like a chair, and then went to the hotel, showered, ate pizza, hit the town in the face, retired back to the hotel, hung out with Anchondo super-guys and our crazy Muncie buddies until the wee hours, and then slept. What a great story. Thanks so much to the UPB for having us out again. You guys are on the... Ball? Should I... State that? Thanks for showing me the... Universe E.T.? LOL! ROFL! France! See you bastardly Hoosiers on Tuesday! ROCK. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 4/10/04 The Emerson Theater (Indianapolis, IN) The Emerson Theater is a real craphole. And we love it! It's a hollowed-out theater that, with a packed house, would probably make for an amazing show. We played to around 80 Indiana people (we'll call them Indians), many of whom had come out to see Ludo. It was pretty sweet - figuratively speaking (I didn't like put my mouth on it or anything). There was a formidable contingent of Ludamites from none other than Ball State University representin' in the crizzowd, and Marion, IN had respectable representation as well. It's SO much more fun playing at an All Ages venue than at those 21+ places. This was our first real show in Indy - we actually played to people, and not only that, but they just so happened to be people who really liked Ludo. Sing alongs, t-shirts, Sharpies, candy baskets, etc. Wowsums. What a way to ring in the ascension of Christ into heaven. All we need now is a little transubstantiation for our mid-mass snack, an egg hunt, and a gaggle of bonneted little girls holding yellow ducklings and talking about a mythical, anthropomorphic rabbit known for breaking and entering, and voila! We've got ourselves an Easter! Thanks so much to everyone at the theater and especially to Ryan for running merch for us. You're a real non-piece-of-crap, guy. Oh and Indianapolis, I'm beginning to think you and Ludo are gonna be getting it on more frequently, know'm sayin'? We've got your number, baby. Don't worry, we'll call. We always call. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go deadbolt the door to defend against some hippity-hoppity, flippity-floppity, disconcertingly bipedal bunny, hellbent on basket-hiding, promiscuity, mammalian burrowing, and cute hopping. My mom hides it real well... that crazy mom! --------------------------------------------------------------- Thursday, 1/15/04 Ball State University - The SC Tally (Muncie, IN) Holy crap-aree, crap-aroo! First show with Saving Face. Did they rock...? That's like asking if braille is bumpy. Of course they rocked. Absolutely awesome. The trusty Dog and Everything took over where Saving Face left off, and rendered everyone rocked. And then Ludo finally got to play for the Ball State faithful again. It was great to be back. The Muncekins sang along to every song and it was breathtaking (we're gonna have to assign a LOT of ninja posts in central Indiana). Then back at the hotel, Saving Face kept it real, the Dog & Everything said "dude" Minnesotanly, and I did something that will henceforth be known as "pulling a Ludo." Muncie is Muncetastic. And don't let anybody tell you different. Great bands. Good people. Grood times. --------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, 11/21/03 Ball State University - Emens Auditorium (Muncie, IN) Blessid. Union. Of Souls. We played with Blessid(sic) Union of Souls. Oh that's right. She likes me for me, not because I look like Leonardo. I believe that love is the answer. Hordes of Muncie's finest folk came out to hear BUOS rock their munchie music and 5 cover songs, mostly unawares of who Ludo was, let alone that Ludo was going to melt their faces with hot rock magma. It was debaucherous. Hundreds of Cardinals and native Muncekins maxed out their minds before Ludo's sickeningly awesome rock-diorama. And then we had the distinct pleasure of meeting, taking pictures, and signing autographs for a large portion of the crowd. We can't wait to come back to you, sweet Muncie. --------------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday, 11/19/03 Ball State University (acoustic) - Starbuck's Cafe (Muncie, IN) Ball State Cardinals cuddled up to the Ludo fireplace, coffee mugs in mitts, for a little gentle, cozy, communal, quiet acoustic rock. It was nice. Ludo had guitars, a story to tell. And we told it. It was nice. --------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 9/27/03 Beatnik's (Marion, IN) A bunch of high school kids came and rocked out at Beatnik's. It was hot, and may I just say that late-night fast-food drive-thru service is impeccable in Marion, IN. I've never seen someone at Taco Bell so professional and attentive at 3 in the morning. Hats off to you, guy. We can't wait to play/eat here again. Oh yeah - definitely ran out of gas on the way home. I, uh, I'm an idiot. --------------------------------------------------------------- Monday,9/22/03 Birdy's (Indianapolis,IN) Rocked Birdy's feathers off. Ludo's fans were punctual and attentive, as were the fans of Sacrelicious, the group with whom we shared the bill. They were really funny hip-hoppers, poignantly featuring girls wearing Catholic school uniforms gyrating onstage. I'd never seen that on a Monday. --------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, 9/19/03 Legends of Notre Dame (South Bend, IN) Rocked Legends. Seven girls piled in van. "Let's all go to the party." Very enthusiastic, yet abysmal orienteers. Never found right party. Drove in circles. Slept in van. Next morning, brushed teeth without toothpaste in parking lot. Tailgated. Passed out inside the halogen-lit Joyce Athletic Convocation Center while sitting at paper-tableclothed fold-out table. Woke up an hour later in the middle of an alumni reunion, drooling and confused at 11:30 in the morning, adjacent to the Notre Dame class of 1958. Attacked by leprechaun.
