Instructions
Directions for Written Current Event:

Please follow the instructions in steps 1-7 exactly

     1.
Select an article from some recent publication (3 months old
          or less).  The pulication may be a:
                     * Newspaper
                      *Magazine (Time, Discover, Readers Digest, etc.)
                      *Online news from your computer
                      *Any recent reputable and recent publication

      2.  The article
MUST have to do with science!!

      3.  Cut out the complete article.

      4.  Read the article.  Underline  or highlight the most important facts of the article.
           (NOT the entire article)

      5.  Write a complete summary of the article in paragraph form.  Do not copy the article.

      6.  Skip a line and write at least four sentences that give your thought out opinion of the
           article and what you learned from the article.

      7.  Staple the article to the front of your paper.


     





  
Directions for Electronic Current Event: (2 possible formats)

    
1.  Find an article online. Copy the article to a word document and add your summary
           and opinion paragraphs on the bottom of the document. E-mail it to me (attach the
           word document to the e-mail).  Make sure that you put "VUSD current event" in the
           subject line or I will not get it.

      2.   Find an article online, e-mail the article to me and send me your summary and
           opinion on a separate word document. (address will be the same as the option
           above and make sure you put "VUSD current event" in the subject line or it will
           become SPAM)
    

  If you can think of another way to e-mail me the article witha  summary and opinion paragraph, please let me know and I will get back to you about it. Remember to use the links above if you need an article.
