Area of a Triangle

The area "K" of a triangle is given by:

K= 1/2*a*b*sinC

K= 1/2*b*c*sinA

K= 1/2*a*c*sinB

All of these formulas are equal to each other, and have the same basic pattern:

K= 1/2 * (one side)(other side)(sine of the included angle)

Where the included angle is the angle between the two given sides, or the only available angle

Example

Given triangle ABC:

If side a is 7cm and side b is 4 cm, and the included angle is 73, what is the area (K) of the triangle?

K=1/2*7*4*sin(73)is approximately 13.4 cm.
